I love it except...

We purchased this refrigerator in December 2021 when we moved to a new home and the kitchen was very cramped with a regular depth fridge. I love the counter depth so much I dont think I would ever go back to a regular depth fridge. What I dont love about it though is that the doors must not seal well because somehow fruit flies or gnats manage to enter and then die right at the seam of the doors. I constantly have to wipe away dead insects which is not pleasant. This also means that I am losing the cooled air and it is costing me more to run it. My unit also has the craft ice feature that has never worked properly. I have tried the troubleshooting suggestions with no luck. I guess I will just get what it decides to make which does not even average to 1 ice ball daily. We paid a lot for this fridge to have to accept these issues. I still love it but I could love it more if I didnt see dead bugs every time I open the door. I wish I could rate this higher on quality features and value but the issues have been a problem from day 1 so that means quality was not what it should be. The craft ice feature doesnt work. And value well I dont feel I got what I paid for. And last I am losing energy with the problem with the seals so I cant rate it any higher. But I still love it Like that boyfriend who is so good looking but hes not giving all he could to the relationship

The craft ice maker stopped working after one year. Had to have it replaced. Less than a year later the replacement stopped working. Ive read reviews since where others have had the same problem.

Good but has issues

Fridge is good looking and well laid out. Has issues with the craft ice maker freezing up occasionally and the defrost cycle is finicky and occasionally ices over the fan causes error codes.

Awesome space but substandard ice-making componen

I bought this refrigerator when I updated my kitchen. I like the way it looks and hiw spacious it is. The water dispenser works great and ice dispenser works great. The filters are easy to change and the drawers and trays are of good quality. The internal fan for the ice maker had to be replaced exactly at 13 months just a month after the warranty expiration. The craft ice balls worked for about 3 months and it has not worked since. The ice tray inside started leaking and freezing which then cause water to leak out of the dispenser. I had to disassemble the ice unit and fix it duct tape it works fine now.

Great fridge/ craft ice maker is problematic

I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. We love the refrigerator and the regular ice maker but the craft ice maker has been a pain. My husband loves the craft ice but if the freezer is full not overfull the craft ice either will not make or will get stuck and the ice wont drop. We had a repair man out a couple years ago who ordered a new ice maker but didnt end up using it as he was able to defrost the ice maker. Recently the whole craft ice maker fell. We removed it and not sure Im going to replace it although my husband will miss the craft ice. Aside from that we do love the fridge its spacious and works well Bought at Costco in 2020

Good fridge with not so good ice makers

I bought this refrigerator just over two years ago. Overall its a good refrigerator nothing exceptional. The problems have been with both ice makers. First the craft ice maker stopped working and required service. Then the in-door ice maker stopped working and required service just after my warranty expired of course. The in-door ice maker is not designed well. Ice cubes will freeze together on the right side and fool the unit into thinking the ice tray is full. Annoying. However LG customer service has been very good. Lots of follow-up and service status updates.

Design issue

Bought new a couple years ago. Had to replace the fitting the water filter connects to after about a year. Recently replaced the condenser fan motor on warranty. The section of door that seals the gap for the French doors could use a modification in the guide mechanism if the right door is open and then the left door is opened slowly the seal strip does not rotate the full 90deg so if the right door is then closed first the seal strip will collide with the right door. Im feeling like LG may be getting sloppy in their design engineering. I still like LG and hope the tighten up.

LG Sells defective Refrigerators

This refrigerator is less than two years old and I paid $3000 for it. The fan the craft ice maker and door ice/water dispenser have been in a state of disrepair and it has been a real headache to get the proper service for this new appliance. Keep in mind I have owned other refrigerators : Whirlpool $700 GE $800. They ran for YEARS with no issues. This LG model has been broken within the first few months of operation and is obviously seriously defective. Instead of just replacing this defective 3 thousand dollar appliance I have to go through this song and dance with customer service where the technician comes out then comes out again then comes out again.... etc I currently own an LG TV and LG Washer / Dryer so I thought the LG refrigerator would be a safe purchase. I will never purchase any future items just based off this experience. Theres too many other options out there

Overall I love this refrigerator. I love the look the space and the fact it makes great ice. I only gave it 3 stars because the compressor failed after 3 yrs. Thankfully it was under warranty and so was fixed by LG for free. LGs customer service has been outstanding

Just before 2 years old and we are starting to have issues. Very disappointed in LG for their service. Was told originally it was covered under warranty then after they sent a tech was told sorry you have to pay. Their customer service was difficult to work with. Expectations I have for major appliances is they last longer than 2 years but LG seems to disagree and they do not stand by their products. I will never buy from them again as we have had other issues with Dishwasher Washing Machine and Dryer.

Pros: Great color easy to clean flexibility in shelving. Cons: Craft Ice maker is junk its been serviced twice and replaced once. Now its not working because the motherboard is bad and a replacement is to be sent. Its continually giving problems especially if the fridge isnt connected to WiFi to get firmware updates. Also we store our water bottles in the bottom drawer its frustrating having to open both doors to access the drawer. It would be better if it were split into 2 drawers.

DONT BUY- poor quality

We bought this two years ago and have had several problems. LG fixed the ice maker that was a known issue but only after making us defrost the whole refrigerator twice which was not necessary. They also replaced the doors since the black stainless coating was flaking off after less than a year. Unfortunately they replaced the doors with the same junk defective product and the same thing is happening a year later. We were led to believe the problem was fixed but it obviously wasnt. Others have had the same problem. Now LG will not do ANYTHING to correct the problem- since they consider it cosmetic and not covered under warranty. What happened to quality? I feel misled- I would never have purchased this product if i had known it had a tissue thin coating that would flake off. We did nothing to cause this - we never even cleaned the outside

This was the worst purchase I have made in some time. Both of the ice makers have not worked for any length of time since we purchased the refrigerator. Finally LG stopped providing warranty work to repair the ice maker. We had to replace one at a cost of $450. If you are considering a refrigerator do not consider LG. They make bad products and do not stand behind their warranties.

I like the roomy inside and the bottom freezer with sliding trays and craft ice balls. Only problem was with the replacement water filter. The first one gave a bad taste. Luckily Lg sent another at no charge.

We had this for about two years and it is a great refrigerator left door slams a little bit but its heavy from the ice maker cubes. The craft ice maker in freezer broke and was out of warranty and LG completely replaced free of charge no hassles. Customer service very good and responding and setting up appointments. Really like the type compressor on the unit.

Stay away from black stainless finish.

This purchase was a huge mistake. We started having problems with it only a few months into the purchase which was crazy given the price of this appliance. First the icemaker stopped working and prevented all water from being dispensed. Apparently this was a known issue. Next The black stainless finish started flaking off. I never realized until it was too late that this black stainless finishes is a tissue thin plastic coating that would come off so easily. Both of these issues occurred within the first year. Since the unit was still under warranty LG sent someone to fix The icemaker and they replaced the doors. Unfortunately they replaced the doors with the exact same issue. Within a year we started to experience the same flaking off of the finish. We treat the doors very gently and have never used anything harsh to clean them if we clean them at all. Because the unit was now out of warranty and it was considered cosmetic LG refused to do anything whatsoever to correct this problem. They claimed it was cosmetic and no longer under warranty. My question is how could they design a finish That was this flimsy? Its essentially fraud they misrepresented a product that no one in their right mind wouldve purchased had they known this would happen. It was unbelievable to me that LG would not even give us a discount on new solid stainless or solid black doors and expected us to pay the full cost of installation and labor and parts. It was one of the worst customer service experiences Ive ever had.

I purchased this Fridge a little over 3 years ago. The finish is coming off by the handle area. Well The Home Depot warranty I purchased does not cover this type of issue so i hade to go directly to LG for help. It took me a few tries to get ahold of the customer service dept which upon the pictures they approved right away. Now 3 issues. 1 was trying to get a time that works around my schedule and note they do not work weekends. I finally got my date to replace my doors and i was notified that their work truck was broken into. so i had to reschedule.2. i had to message the tech to make sure my appointment was good and upon his return message he said he was sick totally understandable So i had to call in and schedule another appointment. The 3rd issue is that nobody contacted me to reschedule my appointment when the tech was sick. I also think that we got pushed to the end of the line while new cases got taken care of. As of now my appointment date is Jan 15th . Lets hope this does not change.
