This is a great oven that is very versatile and easy to program. The problem is that it is chronically unreliable. The electrical switches (switch group 12038730 according to our repairman) burn out a couple of times each year. We are now on our 7th burn-out, awaiting parts and repair since the unit was installed.
The unit is also integrated with a Bosch Convection Oven (Model HBL8454UC/02), so that is also out of service when the switch group burns out.
We have all Bosch appliances in our kitchen and we like them all. But the chronic unreliability of the Speed Oven due to poor design of the electrical wiring system (our repairman's observation) spoils our ability to use the kitchen at all some times.
We are now awaiting repair for the 7th time and are likely to have to cancel our family Easter plans as a reult of this fail.

Very disappointed at Bosch for not being able to even have parts for HMC80251UC that was part of a double oven purchase with Bosch dishwasher, Bosch warming drawer. The Bosch Speed Oven Microwave has been nothing but trouble - breaks down every year like clockwork with blown fuses, display not working, they end up replacing each one of these and finally they tell me it is not repairable. Due to the larger Bosch dimensions for the cutout, have to either replace with a Bosch or get a carpenter to fix it. Not good. Have tried calling Bosch 800# for support - but they are of no help at all, just pointing you to a repair center which has already stated it is not repairable! Please avoid Bosch appliances until they fix their microwave. Get any alternative than this super-expensive dud of an appliance. And no one at Bosch is able to tell me if HMC80252UC can replace the HMC80251UC safely or not - they are exactly same dimensions and cutout, same 220/240V direct input etc. Not good, sorry to say this.

Just so you know, this is our second 800 series Speed Oven. The first one we purchased in 2016, and in 2019, it started falling apart. We replaced 2 control panels 3 door switches and a door. In November of this year the Control panel failed again. This item cost is around $600 and an aditional $200 to install. My wife and I talked about it and decided we had to chew a bitter pill and buy a new one. Because of the size, another brand was not an option. Bottom line, for $2200 Bosch should have more confidence in their appliances. We'll see how it holds up before I give this thing more than 1 star.

The speed oven was defective out of the box with a non funtioning Kitchen Timer and defective Display Panel. The warranty tech inspected it on Nov 13. On Dec 30 the parts are still on back order and Bosch will not replace the unit.

We purchased and installed our speed oven in 2023. Since then we have had door switches short out and blow the main fuse on the microwave leaving it unusable. This has been repaired twice now and has happened a third time. Bosch sent a repair technician the first too times but is now saying it is out of warrenty. Very disappointing quality from Bosch. We do have a Bosch refrigerator and dishwasher that have been working great. Hope this model is retired soon and replaced with something better.

So glad I looked at this review section when trying to find a fix for yet another issue with this unit. Have loved all of my other reliable Bosch products but this speed oven is an enigma - like the rest of the reviews, the display is unreadable, the turnstil starts sparking in use. I'm disappointed new purchasers are still finding these issues as I hoped they had made improvements.

In under a year we had 3 of these. The first one came to the dealer damaged. The 2nd one had an internal shell defect that prevented the rack clips from installing and the current one is now throwing sparks off the metal carousel. Definitely not worth it.

We bought this unit in 2016 and initially had manhy issues including BOSCH had to replace the unit. Since then it was running ok but in 2024 it stopped working suddenly and we spent over $1000 to get it repaired but all that was a waste. finally we decided to downgrade and replace it with a simple microwave again from BOSCH as we had to keep the uniformity with our oven etc whcih are also from Bosch. WILL not recommend this product to other consumers

I purchased the Bosch in-wall microwave oven combo as part of a full suite of Bosch appliances for my new build home, expecting high-end quality and durability. Unfortunately, the microwave stopped working just two years in-well outside the expectation for a premium brand like Bosch.
To make matters worse, the ice maker in the Bosch refrigerator also failed within a similar timeframe. I chose Bosch specifically for its reputation for reliability and performance, but this experience has been deeply disappointing.
When I contacted Bosch customer service, they were unable to offer any assistance. I asked to escalate the issue, and the representative told me that if Bosch decided to help, they would email me-but if not, I would hear nothing. This lack of accountability and communication is unacceptable for a premium appliance brand.
I expected better quality and far better customer service. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I can't recommend Bosch appliances.

This is our 2nd Bosch 800 series microwave. The 1st unit had problems with the door micro switches. The 3rd time it failed, more was wrong. Too costly to repair. Had to purchase the another exact same one due to In cabinet dimensions. For the price we paid for the 1st high end Bosch, would have thought it should be better and last longer. Hope my second unit last longer. Good thing I had a 5 year warranty on the 1st unit. Anyway I hope my unit last much longer than 4 years. I paid for quality...so far I'm not impressed with Bosch Appliances.

We bought all Bosch appliances in 2023. So far the induction stove has been great, the fridge working, oven is well. Do yourself a favor and avoid the 800 series speed oven microwave model. This the 2nd time it broke since 2023 (oddly it was produced in 2018 - in China). First time around it was a contact in the door that was a $400 repair. Now the control board is out $800-$900. Just not reliable

We purchased all Bosch applicances for our kitchen when we built our home in 2016. They have all worked flawlessly except for the microwave oven. There is something seriously wrong with the quality of this product. The door is faulty and has broken twice (or maybe 3 times, I've lost count). We have had to twice eplace something underneath in the rotating dish that would cause sparkles, the control panel has been serviced twice.
Since I refuse to purchase another one of these and we have the matching oven, I am just going to replace both units as I rather spend on a new oven even if I don't need it yet, than buy another one of these again.
Reviews don't like, do yourself a favor and avoid this microwace. We are swtiching to Monogram appliances and not looking back.

Purchased this speed oven as part oof our kitchen remodel. We are actually using it more than the range we purchased it seems. Enjoy the ease of use, heats well, reheat sensor is excellent. Very pleased wiith purchase. We did opt for the 240 v installation.

After less than 3 years the motherboard/display panel on this has gone bad, which is much shorter than should be expected of a company like this. Gremlins in the machine, it's randomly running through button presses and has actually turned itself on in convection mode during the night, which is dangerous. Figuring out what part #'s to order and finding them has been a bit of a nightmare. I would highly recommend avoiding this line as others have said.

I thought Bosch was supposed to be a quality brand. Not so much anymore. This microwave is a disaster. The control board on this model goes bad due to poor quality capacitors and causes the display to gradually dim to black. This has been fixed twice. The turntable motor has needed to be replaced once and the door hinges had to be replaced. Jagged metal guards, creases and holes make the stainless steel interior a nightmare to clean. When you do clean, bring a flashlight;the light shuts off after a few seconds even with the oven door open.

We bought our microwave from Bosch approximately 7 1/2 years ago(along with dishwasher, warming drawer and Benchmark Series Convection oven. Since then the microwave's door broke, along with blown fuses that have burnt out an interior switch. The 1st time this happened was less than 2 years ago (+/- a few mos). The next time in May 2024, now, same thing - July 2024. I expressed my disappointment with the service tech on his May visit. Of course it isn't his fault. I feel we were sold a "lemon"!!! We apparently are at the mercy of one company that sold, installed and have repaired our products from Bosch. I would definitely avoid buying this particular microwave unless you're prepared to fork out several hundreds for repairs each time it breaks!!!!

Moved into a new build May 2020, microwave was brand new. Has broken twice in 4 years. Expensive to repair and no support from Bosch. The microwave repairman even said this model is complete trash.
