Earl B. Feiden, Inc has been in business since 1926. We started in Latham, NY, delivering coal and ice to the local community by horse and wagon. We’re now in 3 locations; serving communities from just north of New York City to the Canadian border, as well as western portions of Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Our delivery and repair personnel enter between 100 – 110 homes every day! Customer Service Representative

Communicating with our customers via phone, email, and online chat, Earl B. Feiden CSRs are expected to be kind, courteous, and professional at all times. Combining their knowledge and love of home appliances, with their ability to search internal databases and reference manufacturer documentation, CSRs establish the relationship between our customers and our appliance repair team to accurately and efficiently resolve their service needs.

Locations: Latham, NY. Kingston, NY

Responsibilities:

  • Field phone calls, emails, and online chats from customers
  • Actively listen to the customer’s complaints, troubleshoot their issues, request all necessary information to clearly understand the issue
  • Create service work orders, assign technicians based on type of appliance and complexity of repair, schedule appropriately based on customer location
  • Reach out to and coordinate with other departments as needed to ensure customer’s issue is addressed appropriately and quickly
  • Contact manufacturer customer support centers by email and phone when necessary

Requirements:

  • Outgoing, friendly and positive attitude with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in-person and in-writing
  • Must be computer savvy, with the ability to quickly search through internal and external databases to gather relevant customer/product information
  • Must be generally knowledgeable about local geography
  • Must be highly organized

*** Experience in Appliance, HVAC, or Automotive customer service is a huge plus

Compensation: This position starts at $15.00/hr with increased compensation based on skill and experience.

Appliance / Heavy Installation Team Lead

Delivery personnel operate on the front line of our business; interacting directly with our customers in their homes. They are expected to be kind, courteous, and professional at all times; using their knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing best-practices to ensure that our customers’ appliances are always properly installed.

Locations: Latham, NY. Kingston, NY

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate delivery vehicles while following a schedule set by management
  • Load, secure, and transport merchandise without damage
  • Uncrate merchandise and inspect for damage prior to entering customer’s home
  • Install according to manufacturer’s specifications, test for proper function, and demonstrate proper usage to customers
  • Document all appliances before and after installation

Requirements:

  • Outgoing, friendly and positive attitude with strong customer service skills
  • Clean driving record with a valid driver’s license at time of hire
  • Experience connecting water, gas, and/or electric
  • Ability to safely lift and move heavy products using proper techniques and mechanical aids
  • Basic hand tools required for installation

*** Experience with installation of Wolf, Sub-Zero, Thermador, JennAir, and Monogram appliances is a huge plus

Compensation: This position starts at $15.00/hr with increased compensation based on skill, experience, and performance. Overtime is available.

Service Technician

The Earl B. Feiden appliance repair team operates on the front line of our business; interacting directly with our customers in their homes. They are expected to be kind, courteous and professional at all times, while being proficient and helpful problem solvers; seeking out the root cause of a problem and repairing the machine to good working condition.

Locations: Latham, NY. Kingston, NY

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate service vehicles while following a schedule set by management
  • Perform diagnostics on all types of major residential appliances (laundry, cooking, refrigeration, dishwashers)
  • Speak with manufacturer technical support lines, obtain part numbers for failed components
  • Clearly document all steps of the repair on work orders and uploading photos when appropriate
  • Communicate with office staff to ensure proper coordination on all repairs

Requirements:

  • Outgoing, friendly and positive attitude with strong customer service skills
  • Clean driving record with a valid driver’s license at time of hire
  • Experience inspecting, removing, and replacing electrical, gas, and water connections
  • Ability to safely lift and move heavy products using proper techniques and mechanical aids
  • Basic tools necessary for field repair

*** Experience repairing Wolf, Sub-Zero, Thermador, JennAir, and Monogram appliances is a huge plus

*** Sealed System EPA Certification and experience is also a huge plus

Compensation: $50,000 - $80,000/year. Service technicians earn a base hourly wage and between 20 – 30% commission on their labor rate and diagnosis charge for each repair. Base hourly wage and commission rate are determined based on experience and number of requirements met. Compensation is determined by the number of repairs completed.
